Psalm 34:4
Luke 12:32
Bishop Jim Justman
When the angel appeared to Mary, he said: "Be not afraid."
When the angel appeared to Joseph, again..."Be not afraid."
When the angels sang in the heavens, they sang: "Be not afraid."
When the storm frightened the disciples, he said: "Be not afraid."
Our Lord seeks out to meet us, when we are filled with fear.
Christ Jesus comes to free us, our sins and griefs to bear.
Lean now upon that promise, look up through heart-felt tear.
God's Word is always near you, and begs your soul to hear...
"My peace, my peace I give you, when you are filled with pain."
"My love is always with you, my promise will remain."
"I've chosen you forever, my sheep you'll always be,"
"I give to you the kingdom. Fear not and follow me."
"Fear not and follow me" How very true. There have been and continue to be times in my life that I am filled with fear. No matter how strong our faith we still weaken and question. These reminders are so important. Refreshing our spirit and souls with scripture keep us strong in faith and secure in times of fear. Thank you for this reminder.
